As we reach some very low temperatures this year, it’s important to remember to bring your animals inside.
Martina Huijssoon who runs Old Macdonald Kennels is reminding people that these crazy cold temperatures are not safe for most outdoor animals.
“If it’s too cold for you it is too cold for them, it is just going to drop down in the minus 40’s please bring them in, it is too cold for them to survive.”
As a petowner she says this is something you sign onto when adopting an animal and it’s important to live up to that.
“They need us to keep them happy and safe, make sure there is water for them and food out and if you need help you can always give us a call.”
She also says this time of year, shelters are always needing an extra hand.
“We always welcome volunteers or to hang out the cats, if you are interested in fostering give us a call, and make sure everybody is safe and bring your pets inside.”
If you are interested in fostering or volunteering you can call the shelter at (403) 783-7447
